AfterDark ("the app", "we", "us") is a bedtime app that helps you limit late-night use of distracting apps. This policy explains, in plain terms, how AfterDark handles your information.
The short version: AfterDark does not collect, store, or share any personal data. Everything the app knows stays on your iPhone.
1. Data we collect
None. AfterDark has no account, no sign-up, and no login. We do not collect analytics, we do not use advertising or tracking SDKs, and the app does not send your personal information anywhere.
2. Information that stays on your device
To do its job, AfterDark saves a small amount of information locally on your iPhone only. This never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else:
- Your chosen bedtime and schedule.
- Your protection mode (Gentle or Strict) and appearance preference.
- Your nightly check-ins (whether you stopped on time) and the resulting streaks and insights.
Because this data lives only on your device, deleting the app removes it completely.
3. Screen Time & the apps you limit
AfterDark uses Apple's Family Controls / Screen Time framework to pause the apps you choose at bedtime.
- Apple provides these app selections to AfterDark as opaque tokens.
- AfterDark cannot see which apps you select, cannot read their contents, and cannot see your usage inside them.
- These tokens are handled on-device by the operating system and are never sent to us.
Your use of Screen Time is also governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
4. Notifications
AfterDark may schedule local notifications on your device (for example, a wind-down reminder or a morning check-in). These are generated and delivered entirely on your iPhone. We do not operate a server and do not send push notifications from the cloud.
5. Children's privacy
AfterDark does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app is suitable for all ages.
6. Data sharing and selling
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your information — because we do not collect any.
7. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.

The statements above are about the AfterDark app. This website is a separate thing, and it is only fair to say what it does: like the rest of cortexbizsolution.com, these pages use Google Analytics to count visits, and the "Get notified at launch" button on the AfterDark page asks for a name and email so we can tell you once when the app is out. That is a property of the website you are reading, not of the app — nothing on this site has any connection to your bedtime, your check-ins or the apps you limit, and installing the app involves no website at all.
