Terms of Use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Ergon on Apple devices that you own or control, in line with the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, sell, rent, sub-licence, reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.

Ergon, its design and its content remain our property. This licence gives you the right to use the app; it does not transfer ownership of anything.

Everything you create in Ergon — tasks, projects, notes, sessions, reviews — belongs to you. We claim no ownership or licence over it. Because it is stored on your own device and in your own iCloud, you are responsible for keeping copies of it. We strongly recommend exporting backups; we cannot recover data for you, because we never hold it.

Core features are free. Ergon Pro unlocks additional features and is offered as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. All purchases are made through the Apple App Store.

• Price is shown in the App Store and on the purchase screen in the app before you buy, in your local currency.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
• Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.
• Cancelling. Manage or cancel a subscription in iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period runs to its end.
• Free trials or introductory offers, where offered, convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the offer ends. Any unused part of a free period is forfeited when a subscription is purchased.
• Lifetime is a one-time purchase for the current Ergon iOS app. It does not renew and there is nothing to cancel.

AI features are optional and require an API key you obtain from OpenAI or OpenRouter. By using them you agree that:

• You are responsible for the cost of your own API usage, billed by that provider directly.
• Your use is also governed by that provider's terms.
• AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete or simply wrong. Treat suggestions as a starting point and check anything that matters.
• We do not guarantee that any AI feature will be available, since it depends on a third-party service we do not control.

The Focus Shield uses Apple's Screen Time framework to make chosen apps harder to open during a focus session. It is a deliberate obstacle designed to interrupt a habit.

You agree not to use Ergon to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, to interfere with the app's operation or security, or to attempt to gain access to systems or data you are not entitled to.

Ergon helps you organise work and attention. It does not provide medical, psychological, financial, legal or professional advice. Its planning suggestions, renewal tracking and analytics are informational. You remain responsible for your decisions, your commitments and your wellbeing. If you are struggling with your health, please speak to a qualified professional.

Ergon depends on services we do not control — iOS, iCloud, the App Store, your calendar provider and any AI provider you configure. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every future version of iOS, and we are not responsible for those third-party services.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ergon is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties; in those places this section applies only as far as the law permits.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, for lost profits, or for lost or corrupted data. Our total liability for any claim relating to Ergon is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

You may stop using Ergon at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive — ownership, warranties, liability and governing law — continue to apply afterwards.

This agreement is between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Ergon or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. If Ergon fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes. Continuing to use Ergon after a change means you accept the revised terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have non-exclusive jurisdiction. This does not remove any protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country in which you live.
